Sacred Heart Catholic School
Mrs. Veronica Perez
I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in English in 2013 and received my multiple subject teaching credentials from there as well in 2015. I spent 8 years in the classroom as an instructional aide before going back to school to finish my long overdue degree. This is my third year teaching second grade, and I am currently working on my Master of Ed in Educational Leadership, also through Grand Canyon.
I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference. I am passionate about quality education and have a special place in my heart for young children. I am of the belief that these years in a child’s education pass by quickly and we only have but a very short amount of time to instill a solid educational foundation and a love of learning. Second grade is special to me because it is the year that the majority of our students will receive Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion. It is an incredible honor to be a part of their Sacramental preparation and to have the opportunity to help them learn about and explore their Catholic faith and formation.
About me away from school.
I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Hilmar, California in 1978. I arrived in Patterson in 2006. I am married to a wonderful man and between us we have four terrific kids. When I am not at school I like to spend time in Monterey and Pacific Grove with my family, I love reading books that make me laugh until I cry, and I like watching movies that stay with me long after they are over. A few fun facts about me: I should own stock in Starbucks, I can drive a tractor and milk a cow like nobody’s business and I love to make people laugh. My favorite book and movie is To Kill a Mockingbird.
