Welcome to Art class!

Welcome to art class. Can’t draw more than stick figures? Don’t worry about it because this is the time to use your imagination. Be creative and let those stick figures shine!

We’re beginning our school year with a very relevant theme to our daily lives. We will be studying and applying all the ins and outs of graphic arts. We’ve already learned how graphic artists develop appealing magazine advertisements and have made our own by advertising a letter of the alphabet. Next, we’ll be delving into the arena of “comic relief,” and creating our own three-panel comic.

Frequently, we have short, but welcome, interruptions to our course of study. We recently finished the decorations for the Friends of the Church Breakfast and I hope to enter some of our artwork into a poster contest put on by the county.

There are a few requirements for art class that I would like to emphasize: *cheerful and thoughtful participation is a must *realizing that not every student is a Picasso or Renoir, each is nevertheless expected to do their personal best *all students must bring their art supplies each week *all students are expected to assist in clean-up after their class
